The Neighbourhood’s Sweater Weather has officially crossed 1 billion views on YouTube, giving the band one of the biggest milestones in the song’s long history. The newly recorded achievement places the 2012 alternative rock hit among a select group of music videos to reach the billion-view mark on the platform.
In the milestone announcement, the achievement comes more than a decade after the song first helped introduce The Neighbourhood to a wider audience. Sweater Weather appeared on the band’s debut album, I Love You., released in 2013. The song also reached No. 1 on the Alternative Airplay chart that year and spent 11 nonconsecutive weeks at the top.
The track found another wave of popularity years later as listeners rediscovered it through social media, particularly during a major resurgence in 2020. Its continued streaming success has helped Sweater Weather remain one of The Neighbourhood’s most recognizable songs.
Reaching 1 billion YouTube views adds another major benchmark to a track that has maintained a strong audience well beyond its original release period.
